The Girl

I'm a sixteen-year-old who "went Veg" about a year ago, a lifeguard who's a little too fond of sunscreen, and a reader who wants to share my opinions.

I've enjoyed reading as long as I can remember. Words have always been an important part of my life. From my preschool readers to the Iliad, books are my constant companions. It is because of these words that I started to write when I was younger, a skill that has been carried with me to my current day. I have been a participant in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) for the past three years, and now serve as Editor-in-Chief of my school paper and literary magazine. I'm a little quirky and a little loud, but I have fun with what I do, and in the end that's what counts, right?

My love for words has led me to begin my fledgling reading blog. The upkeep of the Shelf will hopefully come together in the next few months as I learn the ins and outs of blogging.
